NAUTITECH: A look back at the third steering committee meeting in Genoa
On October 5 and 6, 2026, the partners of the NAUTITECH New Generation project met at the Genoa Boat Show in Italy for the third steering committee (COPIL). This meeting provided an opportunity to review the progress of activities, share achievements, and define the next steps for the project.
A cross-border network in the process of being structured
Partners are continuing their efforts to mobilize businesses in the Cannes Pays de Lérins region, Corsica, Liguria, and Sardinia. A French-Italian mapping of companies has been completed, and a website dedicated to the project has been developed to facilitate exchanges, networking, and information sharing among nautical stakeholders.
Workshops, seminars, and Nautitech Academy sessions are also scheduled across the various territories to strengthen cooperation and support businesses in their development.
Innovation and new technologies at the heart of the project
Work continues on the uses of the Internet of Things (IoT) in the nautical sector. The project notably includes the implementation of three pilot projects in partner territories to identify innovative solutions tailored to the needs of businesses.
In parallel, partners are preparing training initiatives for nautical professions, aligned with the needs expressed by companies, with a schedule planned for early 2027.
Toward more sustainable nautical tourism
The NAUTITECH project also aims to promote responsible nautical tourism through new technologies. The work focuses particularly on the sustainability of maritime activities, the preservation of marine biodiversity, safety, and public awareness.
Studies, educational actions, and experiments using augmented and virtual reality are planned to contribute to a better integration of environmental issues within the nautical sector.
Next steps
The year 2027 will be a major milestone for the project, with the rollout of pilot projects, the development of training programs, and the continuation of cross-border cooperation efforts. Partners will also continue to consolidate the data and deliverables necessary to achieve common objectives.
The next steering committee (COPIL No. 4) is scheduled to take place in Sardinia in the spring of 2027.
Through these actions, NAUTITECH New Generation pursues its ambition: to foster innovation, strengthen ties between businesses, and promote a more sustainable nautical industry on a French-Italian scale.
